Leash Width and Length

• 3/4" width - appropriate for small dogs or puppies due to smaller hardware & weight
• 1" width - perfect for medium-sized and larger dogs this is the most common width.
• 1.5" width - best suited for large dogs or people who prefer a wider handle to hold—the heaviest of the 3 widths due to the larger hardware.

• Leash length is a personal preference along with the normal use of the leash.
• People in cities would not typically use a 6' leash since the dog would need to be close when walking along city streets, whereas people in urban areas would be able to allow dogs to roam farther on a trail and use a 6' leash.
• A 2' traffic lead is perfect for situations where the dog needs to be close to the walker at all times.
• The longer the leash, the more material and the more weight.
